Ages 8-12/Grades 3-5
This class is designed to help foster a love writing and build confidence as each student participate in crazy fun quick writes, group collaborative writing projects, and their own chosen topics and stories. Students will explore their own voice through writing and develop a love and appreciation for the written word as they participate in fun and peer-collaborative projects. Each unit will begin by introducing students to a type of text, literature, & writing, and culminate in students engaging in their own writing within that type. Writing types include Expository, Informational/Research, Descriptive, Narrative, Response to Literature, Poetry, and Persuasive.
